Ender Inciarte walked with the bases loaded in the ninth to give the Atlanta Braves a 6-5 win over the Miami Marlins.

Max Fried made his second career start for Atlanta and was greeted by a 465 foot home run off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton in the first inning to stake the Marlins to an early 1-0 lead.

Fried worked a scoreless second and third before running into more trouble in the fourth. Marcell Ozuna led off the inning with a single and then scored on a triple by J.T. Realmuto. Brian Anderson plated Realmuto with a single of his own to make the score 3-0.

A.J. Ellis followed with a grounder to first that eluded Freddie Freeman to put runners at second and third with no outs. Miguel Rojas grounded out to Dansby Swanson at shortstop but Anderson scored on the play to make it 4-0. Fried struck out Adam Conley but allowed a single to Dee Gordon to put runners at the corners.

That was the end of the line for Fried as Brian Snitker replaced him with Lucas Sims who escaped the jam by getting Stanton to ground out to end the inning.

Atlanta answered back in the bottom half of the inning. Kurt Suzuki led off the inning with a single. After a strikeout by Swanson, Johan Camargo came to the plate and launched a two-run home run to left to cut the deficit in half at 4-2. Lane Adams followed with a single and then moved up to second on a bunt by Sims and moved up to third on a bunt single by Ender Inciarte. Ozzie Albies followed with a double that scored Adams to make it 4-3.

Christian Yelich led off the fifth with a double and came home on a single by Realmuto to push the lead back to 5-3. The Braves cut the deficit again in the bottom half of the inning on a single by Camargo that scored Suzuki. Camargo was tagged out while trying to advance to second on the throw home. Atlanta tied the game up in the sixth as Freeman singled home Jace Peterson to make it 5-5.

The Braves threatened in the ninth as Suzuki again got things started with a lead off single off of Marlins reliever Kyle Barraclough. Swanson walked and both runners moved up 90 feet on a sacrifice bunt by Camargo. Lane Adams then hit a ground ball to Rojas at short who cut down pinch runner Micah Johnson at the plate for the second out of the inning. Nick Markakis walked to load the bases to set the stage for Inciarte who worked a four-pitch walk to give the Braves a 6-5 win.

Fried was tagged for six hits and four runs (three earned) over 3 2/3 innings. He walked one and struck out three. Sims allowed two hits and one run over 2 13 innings of relief.

The two teams will meet again on Sunday with the Braves looking to capture a series win.
