As the Braves continued to win over the course of the season one thing became apparent - that the Braves would retain Brian Snitker and that was confirmed today as the Braves announced an two year contract with a club option for the 2021 season.

Essentially a Braves baseball lifer, Snitker has seen huge improvement each season he’s been the manager - seeing his wins jump from 59 to 72 to 90 from this year. Putting how I personally feel about his managerial abilities aside it is absolutely clear that the players love playing for him and they made that clear as they consistently would make how they feel about the manager public. Not to mention that the optics behind not retaining a manager following a huge jump in wins, quotes about a pristine locker room, and the players overall love for the manager would have been quite bad and upset quite a few people behind the scenes. The stability will be important as this young core of Braves players continues to develop together and having a manager that will literally cry for you (see, Acuña HBP) will help keep a very strong locker room.
