Veteran right-hander Anibal Sanchez will be sticking around the NL East but it won’t be as a member of the Atlanta Braves. Sanchez and the Washington Nationals have an agreement on a two-year deal worth $19 million according to a report by The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

Sanchez was a revelation for the Braves after signing a minor-league deal with the club at the end of spring training. He earned his way back to the majors and pitched well helping them win the NL East.
Sanchez made 25 appearances (24 starts) for the Braves posting a 2.83 ERA (3.62 FIP) in 136.2 innings. He was able to limit hard contact and gave Atlanta a veteran presence in the rotation.
