The Atlanta Braves have won their arbitration case against starter Mike Foltynewicz according to a report by FanRag Sports’ Jon Heyman. Despite the loss, Foltynewicz will get a raise from $544,000 to $2.2 million in 2018.
The Braves and Foltynewicz were unable to reach an agreement despite being just $100,000 off in their offers. That was the smallest gap in an arbitration case since 1994.
Foltynewicz appeared in 29 games for the Braves in 2017 logging 154.0 innings and a 4.79 ERA. He will go to spring training with the expectation of once again being in the middle of Atlanta’s pitching staff.
