Post your personal top 30 Braves prospects!

Hi again. Welcoming everyone to post their lists again. I will add everyone submitting this time to my ranking report who does not opt out. As said before amateurs should beat the experts due to the following:

1) Aggregation of expert data and reports.

2) Late submittal of our list with latest data.

Additionally, some may be inclined to take advantage of built in flaws of many expert lists:

3) Experts are risk averse, don’t want to get embarrassed with Izzy (looking better, hint) at six but do so anyway by putting Olivera at three (Hi BA).

4) Experts still value pitchers relative to hitters too much though a number are starting to course correct. I recall arguing with Ivan the Great about how Julio Urias was way overrated because of his youth and pitch counts. Now he is overvalued for being injured despite super light work load.

Finally, I believe in pitching mechanics being highly relevant so you may find my list upside down but I am sticking with Gohara and Wilson for now.

KATOH should come out this week for Braves so I’ll be evaluating how Mr. Sanchez and I are doing against the experts the last two years.

My Top 30

1) Acuna (prev 2; +1) My run of picking up ranking points with Acuna obviously ends here.

2) Pache (prev 12, +10) A huge drop off, but I think with him being a 3 WAR defender, good bat to ball skills and a body to hit the ball harder makes him our second most untradeable prospect.

3) Gohara (prev 10, +7) I like the size and mechanics while being wary of the elite arm speed.

4) Wilson, Bryse (NR) I love his mechanics and size, clearly ignoring what Kiley says here.

5) Soroka (prev 8, +3) I think he is late at foot plant but hope his slower arm speed keeps him healthy.

6) Wright (NE) I hate his mechanics and hope he pitches at 92 rather than 95.

7) Contreras (NR) Moving slowly but I like the bat and his position is a plus. Possibly best approach and bat skills in the system.

8) Riley (prev 14, +6) I still have major doubts about the bat but he is getting so close and hard to ignore the world’s push for him excepting Law.

9) Toussaint (prev 11, +2) I like the athleticism and arm more than the other guys so I am pushing him up.

10) Davidson (NR) Scouting reports were superlative and I liked his mechanics.

11) Anderson (prev 6, -4) I saw him behind the plate and he did not look particularly good. Awful mechanics.

12) Fried (prev 9, -2) Going with proximity here.

13) Wentz (prev 15, +3) I like him, I think he is late like Soroka but does not throw real hard.

14) Allard (prev 5, -8) Some scouting reports have been very negative so I’ll ignore the outstanding performance.

15) Muller (prev 23, +9) Scouts still like the big guy.

16) Waters (NE) This is risky considering reports of him unable to hit but going with talent

17) Vasquez (prev 16, -1) Approach still looks good. Needs to add strength. Still has a chance to put it all together like Contreras did.

18) Minter (prev 19, +3) Proximity a real factor, health profile is extremely negative.

19) Jackson (prev 22, +5) Proximity at catcher, but looks more like a bench piece.

20) Tarnok (NE) Totally a guess but seems like a high end arm and control was excellent in SSS.

21) Encarnacion (NR) Performed better than Vasquez but lacks approach.

22) Wilson, Isranel (NR) Makes my list again. While #6 was too high two years ago, he still has a chance to make good on it.

23) Ramos (NR) Also like Encarnacion does not takes walks and is a bit older and slower.

24) Peterson (prev 20, -4) Hamate bones suck for a bit. He should have been picked in Rule 5.

25) Gomez (NE) Like the chance of getting some low level value here.

26) Weigel (prev 13, -13) TJ injury puts his ability to contribute in doubt.

27) Cumberland (NR) Like the walks and position, not much else.

28) Ynoa (NE) Like the arm talent, but not expecting much.

29) Lugbauer (NE) Like the power, but needs to stay at C.

30) Demeritte (prev NE). I think I miss his Ks and power.

The Graduated

1) Swanson

3) Albies

7) Newcomb

27) Sims

Missed on Camargo. Swanson tricked most of us. Albies is a stud. Newcomb needs time with pressure coming below. Sims was predictably unimpressive.

The Lost

4) Maitan

21) Soto

24) Severino

I think losing Negret will haunt us in upcoming years.

The Demoted

25) Mora

26) Sanchez

28) Walker

29) Morales

30) Cruz

Mora had a TJ, Sanchez has lost shine. Walker did not impress. Morales is meandering along and Cruz can’t hit at all.
