Josh Ravin activated from the disabled list, Lucas Sims sent to Gwinnett

The Braves continue to try and round their bullpen into form with another roster move today

The Braves bullpen has been a source of much angst for fans, in particular due to walks and making games that shouldn’t be close...well, closer than they should be. Last night was no exception as Lucas Sims came on in relief (after a lengthy downtime) and proceeded to give up three walks, a home run, and a single. The only out he recorded required a pretty insane catch in foul territory by Johan Camargo.

It appears as though that Sims will be headed back to Gwinnett, likely to continue his work in the rotation there, while the Braves activate one of their newer acquisitions from this past offseason.

Ravin had been on the disabled list on April 2nd due to a viral infection, but appears to be good to go now and hopefully he will be able to bolster the team’s beleaguered bullpen. AS for Sims, he wasn’t seeing much if any time with the big club and the lengthy lay-off likely didn’t help his struggles in last night’s game. He will get to see a much more regular workload in Gwinnett as he tries to make his way back to the big leagues.

In 2017, Ravin posted a 6.48 ERA and 5.80 FIP in 14 appearances with the Dodgers. The Braves bought him from the Dodgers back in November.
