Video: Nick Markakis homers but bullpen implosion costs Braves

Road trip begins on a sour note.

MLB: Atlanta Braves at Cincinnati Reds Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Braves’ roadtrip began on a sour note as the bullpen faltered again in a 10-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds.

Ender Inciarte put Atlanta up early with a bloop single that scored Dansby Swanson thanks to some heads up base running.

Nick Markakis extended the lead in the fourth with his third home run of the season, an opposite field shot, to make the score 2-0. However, it was down hill from there as Mike Foltynewicz couldn’t escape the fifth inning and the Braves bullpen imploded for eight runs.
