Mike Soroka was scratched from his scheduled start for the Gwinnett Braves on Sunday but for now it is an insurance move for the Atlanta Braves according to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s David O’Brien.
#Braves scratched Mike Soroka from his Triple-A start today, the move buys them some time until they see how Teheran feels following bullpen today and how Sanchez feels after bullpen Monday morning. Soroka would be first option if Teheran not ready for Wednesday start.

There is uncertainty surrounding Julio Teheran who exited Friday’s start after three innings due to tightness in his upper trapezius muscle near the shoulder. Teheran played catch on Saturday but is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Sunday. How he responds will determine whether or not he will be able to make his next scheduled start on Wednesday.
Anibal Sanchez is also working his way back from a hamstring strain and will throw a bullpen session on Monday. With Monday’s off day, the Braves won’t need a fifth starter again until next weekend but if Sanchez isn’t ready to go then Soroka could be an option there as well.
