Braves Off Day Thread 4/30 - Youth is taking over

With the Braves off on Monday, what are you most excited about and what are you the most concerned about for the 2018 season now that we have a month of baseball under our belts.

MLB: Atlanta Braves at Philadelphia Phillies Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The month of April was supposed to be a bit of a struggle for our Atlanta Braves with it, along with the month of July, being arguably the toughest months on the schedule. Here we are at the end of the month and the team is sitting with a winning record, has been slaying their division rivals, and there are a ton of bright spots.

Ozzie Albies probably should win the National League Player of the Month for his power surge that has him at the top of the National League leaderboard in home runs (just like we all predicted), Freddie Freeman has been his usual excellent self, Ronald Acuna Jr. has debuted and is the talk of the league, Dansby Swanson has improved even though he has cooled off recently, and the team is getting real, meaningful production from unexpected sources (Ryan Flaherty) and guys who look like they have found the fountain of youth (Nick Markakis and Kurt Suzuki). The starting pitching has been perfectly reasonable as well, although it certainly helps when you have arguably the most potent offense in the league. Oh yeah, and there is more help on the way with guys like Luiz Gohara and Mike Soroka right there on the cusp of debuting and Dustin Peterson getting hot as well down in Gwinnett.

Not all has been perfect though....the bullpen has been a source of concern, in particular with the walks and having a tendency for making games far more interesting than they should be.

So on this off day, what are you the most excited about for this team and what are your biggest concerns for this team going forward in 2018? Enjoy yourselves in the comments sections, be kind, and enjoy talking some Braves baseball.
