Braves look for another series win behind Julio Teheran

Teheran looks to continue string of good starts.

MLB: Atlanta Braves at Chicago Cubs Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves will look to secure another series win on Sunday when they wrap up a three-game series against the Miami Marlins at SunTrust Park. Atlanta fell in the opener 2-0 but bounced back in a big way on Saturday with an 8-1 win.

Julio Teheran wasn’t at his best in his last start but he did enough to keep the Braves in the game and to eventually pull out a win. Teheran allowed four hits and four runs including a pair of homers, in six innings at Wrigley. Those four runs are the only ones he has allowed in his last three starts spanning 19 innings. Sunday’s game will be his first appearance against the Marlins this season.

Miami will counter with left hander Wei-Yin Chen who will be making his fifth start of the season. Chen began the season on the disabled list due to elbow trouble. He has made just 27 starts over the last two years due to various ailments. So far he has been up and down while trying to build strength over his first four outings. He allowed seven hits and nine runs in just three innings two starts ago against the Cubs. Chen didn’t allow a run in his last start against the Dodgers but lasted just 4.1 innings.
