Ronald Acuña Jr. leaves game with left leg injury

MLB: Atlanta Braves at Boston Red Sox Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports

Ronald Acuña Jr. left Sunday’s game after suffering what appeared to be a hyperextended left knee while legging out an infield single in the seventh inning. Acuña lay motionless on the field for a few moments as trainers and coaches rushed to his attention.

He was able to get up and walk to the Braves’ clubhouse under his own power which seems like a victory in this instance.

Preston Tucker came on as a pinch runner to replace Acuña. We will pass along updates when they become available.

Update: The Braves announce that Acuña left Sunday’s game due to knee and lower back pain.
