Braves retake lead in NL East with whole-team-effort to defeat Nationals

Thanks to some high intensity tight rope walking by Sean Newcomb the Braves were able to hold down the Nationals offense long enough to pick up the win. Atlanta now moves back into first place and will attempt to distance themselves from the pesky Nats during the course of this series at SunTrust.

Law projects Braves to select upside third base prospect in MLB Draft

Keith Law became the approximately 4 billionth person to mock third base prospect Nolan Gorman to the Braves yesterday. With the eighth pick of the Draft there are quite a few options for the Braves to consider with infield prospects being an obvious need.

Peter Bourjos up, Dustin Peterson down and Aaron Blair out

The Braves re-instated Peter Bourjos to the club after playing with the team earlier this season and then being cut. Dustin Peterson was optioned back down to Gwinnett where he can continue to get at-bats and sadly the Aaron Blair-Braves marriage never did end up working out and he was released by the team yesterday.

David O’Brien of the AJC wrote a very interesting piece about the resiliency of the Braves squad with their “never-say-die” attitude that starts every day with their manager. Atlanta has become one of the most exciting teams in baseball thanks to their late inning comeback prowess proving the point of being down, but never out.

Kershaw faces another health scare, needs MRI on his back

In his first start off the DL Clayton Kershaw experienced some more back tightness which will lead the Dodgers to order another MRI on the future Hall of Famer. Kershaw hopefully will be healthy enough to make his next start.

David Wright is attempting to begin his comeback to baseball

After more than two seasons away from the game David Wright has finally been cleared to resume baseball activities by his back specialist and the Mets team doctor. There is no guarantee Wright will ever make it back to the Majors and in fact it is very doubtful, but you can’t help but root for a guy who’s making the attempt to push through.
