The Atlanta Braves moved back into first place Monday night with a 4-2 win over the Washington Nationals. Sean Newcomb overcame a slow start while the Braves’ offense did just enough to earn the victory.

Preston Tucker got the start in left field and put Atlanta on the board early tying the game with this double into the right field corner.

Freddie Freeman with a hustle double here in the third. Bryce Harper’s throw got away at second which allowed Ozzie Albies to score on the play.

Sean Necomb was the story in this one. After walking the first two batters of the game, he settled down allowing just four hits and two runs over a career-high seven innings.

The Braves got an insurance run in the seventh as Ender Inciarte scored from first on a double by Ozzie Albies. Albies was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk in the game.

Dan Winkler threw a hitless eighth and struck out two including Bryce Harper. Winkler’s ERA now sits at 0.77 for the season.
