The Atlanta Braves chased Alex Wood early and cooled off the Los Angeles Dodgers in the process with a 5-3 win Saturday night.

Trailing 1-0 in the second, Nick Markakis got things started with his 19th double of the season and the 450th of his career. Markakis went 2-for-5 in the game and is hitting a cool .328 on the season.

Charlie Culberson followed with a single that scored Markakis to tie the game. Culberson finished with three hits for the first time this season.

Tyler Flowers put the Braves in front in the third with a two-run double that scored Dansby Swanson and Freddie Freeman to put Atlanta in front 3-1. Flowers had a big day at the plate going 2-for-4 while driving in three runs.

Swanson helped the Braves and A.J. Minter preserve the lead with this nice diving stop and throw in the seventh. Swanson was 2-for-5 in the game and scored three runs.
