The Atlanta Braves will be looking for a sweep when they wrap up a two-game series against the New York Mets Wednesday afternoon at SunTrust Park. Atlanta used a six-run sixth inning on Tuesday to help score an 8-2 win.
Mike Soroka will come off the disabled list today to make his first start since May 12. Soroka has been sidelined due to shoulder inflammation. Soroka has pitched in three games allowing six earned runs over 14.2 innings. He limited the Mets to six hits and one run over six innings in his major league debut back on May 1.
The Braves will face a tall order today against Mets right hander Jacob deGrom who has a 1.57 ERA through 13 starts this season. DeGrom has faced Atlanta three times so far in 2018 and has allowed one run in 18 combined innings. However, he still doesn’t have a win to show for it.
Atlanta’s win Tuesday gave them a one-game lead in the NL East division over the Washington Nationals. They have taken eight of the 11 meetings with the Mets this season.
