Anibal shuts down the Padres and Ender goes yard in 4-2 win

Atlanta played a very solid all around game against the Padres last night as Anibal Sanchez gave the Braves 7 shutout innings. Ender Inciarte drove in two of the Braves 4 runs with one run coming off a homer to right field which was absolutely tattooed.

Josh Ravin struck with line drive in head at Gwinnett

Josh Ravin was hit in the head with a hard liner last night in Gwinnett. Amazingly he was able to stand under his own power and sit on the medical cart before exiting the game. Ravin spent some time with Atlanta earlier this season but has been in Gwinnett ever since.

The Braves could try to join “the opener” movement but maybe not right now

With the Rays changing baseball by trying out their new “opener” strategy other forward thinking teams like the Braves may try their hand at it themselves. Unfortunately the Braves pen does not look ready to handle that challenge right now so it may take time before we see this experiment find its way to Atlanta.
