Mike Foltynewicz turned in one of the best performances of his career as the Atlanta Braves knocked off the Washington Nationals for the second straight night with a 4-0 win.

Nick Markakis with the early sliding grab to rob the Nationals of a hit. Markakis went 1-for-4 at the plate and scored the 1,000th run of his career.

After Markakis scored to put the Braves in front, Dansby Swanson gave Foltynewicz more than enough insurance with a three-run blast off of Stephen Strasburg.

Foltynewicz was the story in this one as he recorded a two-hit shutout while tying a career-high with 11 strikeouts. He needed just 106 pitches with 73 landing in the strike zone.
