Braves send Julio Teheran to the mound looking for a bounce back win

The Orioles got the Braves late last night but Julio is on the mound today.

After a tough loss last night to the Orioles in extra innings the Braves will surely be looking to exact some revenge on the worst team in baseball. Julio Teheran is riding a 6 inning hitless streak and showed an improved fastball in his last start which was averaging 91-93 MPH.

Julio Teheran has finally gotten his ERA down below 4.00 but his FIP does remain high for the time being at 5.27. By pairing his regularly good offspeed pitches with a higher velocity fastball than normal the Braves are hoping for some positive regression to continue against an Orioles lineup that is less than intimidating to say the least.

The Orioles will send out Dylan Bundy who has not been terrible in 2018 with an ERA of 3.81. Bundy is striking out better than 10 batters per 9 innings but allowed four runs in his last start against the Marlins and two long balls in the process.

It should be a fun battle in the early innings but the Braves desperately need to beat bad teams like the Orioles if they want to have any chance of making it to the postseason.

Let’s hope today goes better than last night.
