Video: Braves come up short in extras against Orioles

Atlanta rallied late but fell in 15 innings to the Orioles Friday night.

The Atlanta Braves rallied to force extra innings with a four-run ninth, but came up on the losing side of a 10-7 loss to the Baltimore Orioles in 15 innings Friday night at SunTrust Park.

The game was a pitcher’s duel early. A solo home run by Chris Davis in the fifth put the Orioles in front until the seventh when Johan Camargo came through with an RBI single that scored Dansby Swanson.

Sean Newcomb turned in another great performance on the mound allowing five hits and one run over seven innings. He struck out three and walked two.

Charlie Culberson came through again in the eighth with a two-out double that scored two to put Atlanta in front 3-1. However, a bullpen implosion in the ninth would leave the Braves staring at a 7-3 deficit going into their last at bat.

After run-scoring hits by Ozzie Albies and Freddie Freeman, Nick Markakis doubled off of Orioles closer Zach Britton to tie the game. Freeman was thrown out at the plate on the play but the game headed into extra innings. That is where it would stay until the 15th when Baltimore struck for three off of reliever Peter Moylan.
