Braves restore order to universe, beat Orioles 7-3

The Atlanta Braves avoided what would have been an embarrassing sweep with a 7-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. Ozzie Albies had three more hits while Dansby Swanson hit a pinch hit home run in the eighth to help secure the win.

Acuna unlikely to return until later in the week

Ronald Acuña Jr. will continue his rehab assignment for the time being and likely won’t be activated until the later part of the week. Braves’ manager Brian Snitker told MLB.com’s Mark Bowman that everything is going good but the club won’t rush Acuña back.

“We’re still evaluating,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said following Sunday’s 7-3 winover the Orioles. “He’s feeling good, but we’re still talking to the doctors about when is the right time. We don’t want to rush him back. We want to make sure everything is healed.”

Braves place Arodys Vizcaino on the disabled list, promote Evan Phillips

The Braves placed closer Arodys Vizcaino on the 10-day disabled list Sunday due to persistent soreness in his shoulder. Vizcaino has battled the soreness all week and Atlanta finally made the roster move prior to Sunday’s game. The Braves promoted RHP Evan Phillips from Triple-A Gwinnett to take Vizcaino’s spot on the roster.

With Vizcaino sidelined, Daniel Winkler and A.J. Minter will see the bulk of action in save situations.
