Mike Foltynewicz makes his (hopefully) triumphant return to the Braves tonight, and could have his hands full with a Reds offense that has rattled off 7 consecutive victories. For a rotation that has battled inconsistency and injury over the last week, it will be nice to get a healthy Folty back on the bump. A strong start could further increase his candidacy as an All-Star.
In 14 starts this season, he has only allowed more than 2 earned runs once.
The Braves were able to break through for 3 runs against Reds starter Tyler Mahle the last time these two teams squared off. With Folty on the mound, it would be nice to think a repeat performance would be enough to keep the Braves in the win column.
Do you have deep thoughts about Ozzie suddenly re-discovering his stroke after being moved back to the 2-hole in the lineup? Do you want to wax philosophical about Danny Santana getting 3 straight starts in left over Charlie Culberson? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.
Atlanta is currently dealing with some weather, but it looks like the rain will eventually tail off and the Braves should be able to get this one in.
