Braves News
Anibal Sanchez injured and Braves can’t capitalize on many chances in loss to Reds
The Braves had plenty of chances but once again got behind the Reds and had to make a comeback attempt late. Anibal Sanchez was pitching well up until the was forced to leave in the fifth inning with cramping in his calf.
Braves recall Matt Wisler and send Lucas Sims back down to AAA-Gwinnett
The Braves had to call in even more reinforcements for the bullpen yesterday and decided to go with Matt Wisler. Wisler has seen time with the Braves already this season. Lucas Sims was sent back down to Gwinnett after a rough inning in Monday’s win.
It has been a rough season at leadoff for the Braves to say the least
The Braves leadoff hitters have been struggling so far this season and that is really a shame since their offense could be better with the right guy at the top of the lineup. So far the Braves have tried both Ozzie Albies and Ender Inciarte to no avail and it may be time to try someone new.
MLB News
Jose Altuve leads all vote getters in the AL and the outfield consists of Mookie Betts, Mike Trout and Aaron Judge. Surprisingly the vote is spread out quite nicely and more than half of the AL teams could see one of their players on the field in DC this year.
Giancarlo Stanton may have hit one of the farthest home runs ever in BP yesterday
In batting practice at Citizens Bank Park yesterday Giancarlo Stanton hit a monster shot out of the stadium in left field. We have seen Stanton hit a ball completely over Dodger Stadium but this is a new level of ridiculous.
Kris Bryant goes to the DL with shoulder inflammation
As if the Cubs weren’t already struggling enough of late they got some even worse news today. Kris Bryant will be on the shelf until his shoulder can return to full health. He clearly hasn’t been the Kris Bryant we have come to know in recent seasons as he’s batted .280 with 9 home runs this season.
