Braves reinstate Luiz Gohara from restricted list, outright Miguel Socolovich to Gwinnett

Gohara is back

MLB: Atlanta Braves at Philadelphia Phillies Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

As expected, the Atlanta Braves reinstated Luiz Gohara from the restricted list on Sunday and outrighted Miguel Socolovich to Triple-A Gwinnett. Gohara was placed on the bereavement list last week so that he could return to Brazil to help attend to his Mother who was in the hospital. He was later transferred to the restricted list before returning to Atlanta yesterday.

Gohara has appeared in four games including one start for Atlanta this season posting a 2.45 ERA in 11 innings. He is expected to be utilized as a reliever at least for the time being. He told 680 The Fan this morning that his Mother is out of the hospital and that it is a relief to know that her health is improving.

Socolovich allowed two runs in Saturday’s loss to the Nationals. He has made four appearances out of the Braves’ bullpen in 2018 and has allowed six runs in just five innings.
