I know, I know...there has been a lot of mock draft coverage lately. I promise the real stuff is coming very, very soon.
The 2018 MLB Draft is mere hours away and we are still getting information about what is going to happen tonight. There are lots of weird and wonderful rumors, in particular in the top 10 which should make the draft a really fun affair this year.
However, what has been a constant over the last 24 hours or so is that one name has begun to emerge as a favorite of the Braves with the eighth overall pick.
New mock draft just went up at Baseball America. Changes on four teams picking in the top 10, plus new projected picks for the Blue Jays and Yankees: https://t.co/aOA2TdJIxr

Yep, thats right....it is prep high school RHP Carter Stewart as the likely choice to the Braves if everything goes according to plan. Also, insert my usual reminder that if you haven’t subscribed to Baseball America...you should definitely do so. Also, Talking Chop alum and BA draft guru Carlos Collazo is going to be on the MLB draft coverage team so make sure to tweet at him and be proud of him.
As for the draft itself, Nolan Gorman was the en vogue pick until recently and he could still easily be in the play. However, the recent thinking is that the Braves prefer and covet Stewart and his Looney Tunes curveball and live fastball. If you have read our coverage lately, you should know when would be happy with either player.
