The Atlanta Braves placed Julio Teheran on the 10-day disabled list Monday due to a right thumb contusion. Teheran lasted just four innings in Monday’s start and exited after jamming his thumb during a swing. A DL stint might be well timed as Teheran was struggling on the mound with decreased velocity in Monday’s start. He has been up and down so far this season posting a 4.31 ERA in 13 starts.
Jackson has appeared in two games for the Braves this season allowing two runs in just 1 1/3 innings. However, he has pitched well at Gwinnett where he has a 1.69 ERA in 10 appearances and was averaging 14.34 strikeouts per nine innings.
