Braves beat the brakes off the Padres in near shutout

Sean Newcomb was incredible and Freddie Freeman could not be stopped as he reached base 5 times in the Braves 14-1 win. Atlanta needed only two pitchers to complete the game and nearly had a shutout until the second to last batter of the game ended that hope with a solo homer.

Atlanta has another strong draft day

Tristan Beck headlined a strong day two of the MLB Draft for the Braves. Atlanta was astonishingly able to land 3 talents ranked within the top 80 of Baseball America with their first selections.

Julio Teheran DL’d

After struggling to get his fastball velocity above 86 for much of the game in San Diego Monday night Julio Teheran was sent to the DL with a thumb contusion. The righty also had an MRI on his elbow which revealed no structural damage.
