Video: Freddie Freeman homers but Braves fall to Padres

Braves suffer a disappointing series loss in San Diego.

The Atlanta Braves jumped out to an early lead but finished with just four hits in a 3-1 loss to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday. Atlanta drops 2-of-3 in the series and will resume their west coast trip on Friday in Los Angeles.

Virtually Atlanta’s only offensive highlight. Freddie Freeman launched his 11th home run of the season in the first inning to put the Braves up 1-0.

Mike Foltynewicz wasn’t dialed in but he kept the Braves in the game allowing five hits and two runs over five innings. He struggled a bit with his fastball command but as you can see below, his slider was as advertised.
