The Atlanta Braves made a late roster move on Wednesday optioning Luiz Gohara back to Triple-A Gwinnett. The team has yet to announce the corresponding roster move.

It has been mostly a down season for Gohara but he has started to turn things around of late. In his latest stint in Atlanta, Gohara allowed just one hit and one run over four innings of relief. Even better, he struck out five and the life on his fastball seemed to have returned. The only run he surrendered was an opposite field home run to Aaron Judge that resembled much more of a pop up than a homer.
Gohara returns to Gwinnett which should allow him to rejoin the rotation and make a start. That would put him in position to join Atlanta’s rotation in the second half when the team will need a fifth starter.
