The Atlanta Braves made a roster move Thursday recalling outfielder Michael Reed from Triple-A Gwinnett. This is Reed’s second stint with the club as he was promoted on July 2 to avoid an opt-out in his minor league contract but was returned to Triple-A the next day.

Reed has played well at Gwinnett where he has appeared in 36 games and is hitting .371/.480/.597 with 10 doubles and six home runs. To make room for Reed on the active roster, Atlanta designated Danny Santana for assignment.
Santana was called up back on June 22 and played sparingly going just 5-for-28 at the plate.
Atlanta’s current roster includes five outfielders not counting Charlie Culberson who has been given several starts in left field. Preston Tucker was promoted right before the All-Star break after a short stint in Triple-A.
