Fresh off of an offensive explosion in Monday night’s game, the Atlanta Braves will look to complete a two-game sweep of the Miami Marlins Tuesday afternoon at Marlins Park.
Freddie Freeman set the tone early in Monday’s game with a two-run home run in the first inning to give the Braves an early lead. They would pound out 12 runs on 16 hits including a four-hit performance from Charlie Culberson who made his second straight start at second base in place of Ozzie Albies.
Julio Teheran will take the mound for the Braves on Tuesday. Teheran entered the break on a good note allowing seven hits and one run in his last two starts combined (13 innings). He has seen an uptick in his fastball command and velocity of late and it will be interesting to see how the extended break effects him.
Miami will counter with left-hander Wei-Yin Chen who has been a much different pitcher at home rather than on the road. Chen has posted a crisp 1.83 ERA in seven starts at home and held the Phillies to five hits and one run over six innings while striking out eight in his last start. However, in road starts, Chen has an ERA of 10.47 allowing 38 runs in 32.2 innings.
Tuesday’s game is a buisiness man’s special with a start time of 12:10 p.m. ET so plan accordingly. The game will be carried live on Fox Sports South.
