The Atlanta Braves have juggled their rotation plans for this weekend against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Max Fried will make his return to the rotation on Saturday according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution’s Gabriel Burns.
Sean Newcomb will be pushed back a day to Sunday where he will match up against the Dodgers’ Ross Stripling. Coming off of a rough outing, Julio Teheran will be pushed back to Monday’s series opener against Miami.
Fried was placed on the 10-day disabled list back on July 6 due to blister problems on his pitching hand. He began a rehab assignment on July 18 throwing 4 2/3 no-hit innings for Gwinnett. Fried came back five days later and allowed one hit and struck out 10 over 6 2/3 shutout innings for Mississippi. He will be on regular rest in Saturday’s game.
Newcomb allowed just one run over six innings last time out against the Marlins. He has benefited from an extra day of rest earlier in the season.
