It has been a quiet deadline for the Atlanta Braves so far but there is still time to make a deal. Reports suggest that the team is still actively looking for pitching upgrades as well additional bench options.
One player the Braves have been linked to repeatedly over the last two seasons has been Tampa Bay right-hander Chris Archer and they are reportedly again one of several teams involved in trade discussions.
Braves are persisting in their Chris Archer pursuit. Tampa Bay Times reported they're one of three most interested (SD, NYY).

The Padres and the Yankees are the other frontrunners but reports suggest that there are plenty of other teams involved as well. That much interest will no doubt drive the price up and that makes a deal feel a little unlikely.
To this point, Alex Anthopoulos has shopped around looking for controllable assets of which Archer fits the bill but he has been reluctant to package the multiple high-level prospects that would be required to make such a deal happen. Will that change between now and Tuesday’s deadline? That remains to be seen.
