The Atlanta Braves are close to gaining some bullpen help with the acquisition of reliever Brad Brach from the Baltimore Orioles. The Baltimore Sun’s Eduardo Encina reports that an agreement is in place pending a physical.
The Braves are sending the Orioles some international slot pool money in exchange for Brach.
Braves sent $250K in international slot money to Orioles for Brach. Same price they paid to get Jonny Venters from the Rays.— Mark Feinsand (@Feinsand) July 29, 2018
Brach has appeared in 42 games for Baltimore this season and has a 4.85 ERA in 39 innings. He has dealt with a high .371 BABIP this season so the hope is that a change of scenery may change his fortune.
Update - The deal is done and has been announced.
