Braves announce Kolby Allard to return to Gwinnett after spot start

Allard will make his debut and be sent back down.

MLB: Spring Training-New York Mets at Atlanta Braves Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

Title sums it up - the Braves have announced that Kolby will return to Atlanta after his start tonight.

The move was kind of expected following the addition of Kevin Gausman to the rotation, but in hindsight they likely would not have made the move had they known they would have added him.

Given the current state of the weather in Atlanta right now and the foreseeable future it’s unknown if he will actually make the start - but he will get paid which is awesome news for him.

Allard is enjoying a really good season for Gwinnett going 6-4 with a 2.80 ERA, 3.39 FIP and 2.72 BB/9 rate and will likely compete for a starting spot in Spring Training next season.
