The Southern League leader in Ks has been promoted to Gwinnett

The day of reckoning is upon us as Touki Toussaint has been promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett after a sensational start to the season.

Touki went 4-6 with a 2.93 ERA, 1.186 WHIP, with an 11.2 K/9 rate and 3.8 walks per nine. After spending a lot of time last year working on his fastball and not displaying the full arsenal of pitches, he has had the full pitching repertoire this season and has been fantastic. To go along with those great numbers on the mound, Toussaint has also hit .333/.357/.444 in 14 games. Toussaint leaves the Southern League with the lead in strikeouts (103), and is fifth in ERA (2.93).

For those that are unfamiliar with Touki and what he brings, he combos a plus fastball that can reach 97 with a double-plus curveball and a rapidly improving changeup. He has improved his command this season and is easily one of the highest-ceiling pitchers in baseball. With the improvement he has shown this season he was due to be promoted and we at Talking Chop are thrilled we can get an in-person look at the dominating pitcher.
