The Braves got behind early and couldn’t catch up late
Sean Newcomb had some bad luck with a couple of Yankee Stadium home runs and was forced to exit early due to a high pitch count in the third inning. The Braves made an attempt to come back late but were thwarted when Giancarlo Stanton hit a home run about 315 feet down the right field line.
Atlanta gets their closer back
Arodys Vizcaino was activated off of the disabled list yesterday and re-joins the Braves bullpen at a perfect time when they needed the reinforcements badly. To make room for Vizcaino on the 25-man roster Michael Reed was optioned back down to AAA-Gwinnett.
Injury concerns become significant in Braves top pick Carter Stewart’s signing
Atlanta has some very real concerns arising about their top pick Carter Stewart’s wrist which is what has reportedly held up his signing with the team. Stewart is likely to still sign but the Braves will most likely try to sign him under-slot in an attempt to sign 34th rounder Zack Hess who is a top line talent.
Braves 2018 second round pick Greyson Jenista debuts for Rome
The Braves big second round pick Greyson Jenista made rookie ball look like a cakewalk, so naturally Atlanta promoted him to a higher challenge at Rome. Jenista arrived and immediately began mashing again and has Atlanta feeling fantastic about this selection.

Machado trade talks heating up?
It has been rumored for weeks that the Orioles will trade star shortstop Manny Machado at some point before the 2018 trade deadline. Reportedly talks are heating up and the Braves are actually one of the teams that have been connected to the slugger.
Brian McCann out long-term after surgery
The former Braves catcher was forced to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery yesterday which will keep him out several weeks at minimum. In even worse news for Houston, backup catcher Max Stassi was also forced off the field yesterday with injury.
Milwaukee becomes the first NL team to 50 wins
Eric Thames is a very strong man and thanks to Thames and his teammates the Milwaukee Brewers are the first team in the National League to 50 wins. The Braves had a shot at 50 wins last night against the Yankees but will just have to try again tonight.
