The Atlanta Braves will try to put an end to a four-game losing streak on Saturday when they continue their series against the Milwaukee Brewers in a nationally televised contest. Atlanta as dropped the first two games of the series and are now percentage points behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East standings.
The Braves may have dodged another bullet in Friday’s game when Ronald Acuna Jr. pulled up lame after legging out an infield single in the seventh inning. Acuna left the game with what was deemed a right groin strain. The injury isn’t thought to be serious but it wouldn’t be surprising for the Braves to be cautious with him.
Anibal Sanchez will get the start for Atlanta and will be looking to continue what has been a surprising start to the season. Sanchez allowed six hits and three runs over six innings in his last start against the Yankees. He has pitched into the sixth inning in four of his last six starts.
Milwaukee had originally planned to start left-hander Brent Suter in Saturday’s game but he was placed on the disabled list with a rotator cuff strain. Right-hander Aaron Wilkerson will start in his place which will be just his second appearance of the season. Wilkerson allowed five hits and five runs in just three innings in his season debut last Sunday against the Reds.
