The votes are in and the Atlanta Braves will have three starters in the 2018 MLB All-Star Game which will be held in Washington D.C. on July 17. First baseman Freddie Freeman and outfielder Nick Markakis were both voted in by the fans as starters. Freeman received more votes than any other National League player.
Freeman and Markakis garnered the top two vote totals among NL players. This is Freeman's third All-Star selection. Markakis now has the distinction of having played more games than any other player in MLB history before gaining a first All-Star selection.

This will be Freeman’s third trip to the All-Star Game. He is once again putting up MVP caliber numbers hitting .310/.401/.537 with 16 home runs and 58 RBIs. Freeman is the cornerstone for this Braves’ team and their unquestionable leader.
The sentimental favorite of the Braves’ All-Star hopefuls who will be making his first trip to the All-Star Game in what is his 13th season in the majors. Markakis is having a career resurgence a 136 wRC+ of 136 while hitting .324/.392/.494 with 10 home runs and 27 doubles. Markakis entered Sunday leading the NL in hits and was second in doubles.
