Mike Foltynewicz will join teammates Freddie Freeman, Nick Markakis and Ozzie Albies as representatives of the Atlanta Braves in the 2018 MLB All-Star Game.
Foltynewicz was named as a reserve for the National League after putting up light’s out numbers in the first half of the season. He has posted a 2.37 ERA in 17 starts and is averaging 10.8 strikeouts per nine innings. Folty has allowed three runs or less in 15 of his 17 starts while opponents are hitting just .188 against him.
"It's a huge honor. The main goal this year was just to be consistent, not trying to make All-Star games, just trying to go out there and win game by game for my team.”@Braves pitcher Mike Foltynewicz is heading to his first career All-Star game. pic.twitter.com/TgB1tmsee2
