Kevin Gausman tossed five shut out innings to help the Atlanta Braves snap a two-game losing streak with a 4-0 win over the Miami Marlins. Atlanta wraps up their road trip with a 5-2 record and will return home on Tuesday to face the red hot Tampa Bay Rays.

Prior to Sunday’s game, the Braves called up infielder Rio Ruiz from Triple-A Gwinnett and designated veteran catcher Chris Stewart for assignment. Ruiz hit .269/.321/.393 in 126 games at Gwinnett.

Oakland placed left-handed pitcher Sean Manaea on the 10-day DL Sunday with a shoulder impingement. The timing couldn’t be worse for the A’s who are in the middle of the playoff chase in the AL West.
Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson is slated to begin a rehab assignment on either Monday or Tuesday with Toronto’s single-A affiliate. He has been on the disabled list since the end of May due to a strained calf but if he can show he is healthy, it will give the Blue Jays the opportunity to pass him through waivers and attempt to trade him before the deadline.
Speaking of the Blue Jays, Kendrys Morales extended his homer streak on Sunday to seven straight games which is one shy of the major league record. The record is shared by Ken Griffey Jr, Don Mattingly and Dale Long.
