Nola, defense result in 3-0 Braves loss to Phillies
Anibal Sanchez turned in another solid performance on the mound but it wasn’t enough for the Atlanta Braves in a 3-0 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. Sanchez allowed three hits and struck out seven over six shutout innings. The two teams will meet again on Sunday where they will wrap up the regular season.

CC suspended 5 games, elects to appeal
Major League Baseball handed out punishment after Thursday’s bean ball incident between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays. CC Sabathia received a five-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for throwing at Tampa’s Jesus Sucre. Tampa’s Andrew Kittredge received a three-game suspension for throwing at Austin Romine. Both suspensions will be served at the start of the 2019 season.
Yankees break MLB record for most home runs in a season
Speaking of the Yankees, they set a major league record on Saturday with the most home runs by a team in history. The Yankees now have 266 home runs on the season surpassing the 1997 Seattle Mariners for the most in MLB history.
Mets’ David Wright plays four innings in final career start
The Mets’ David Wright played in his final game for New York Saturday night at Citi Field. Wright went 0-for-1 at the plate with a walk and left to a long standing ovation in the fourth inning.
