Home field advantage for the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series is still in play but they are going to need help on Sunday for it to happen. It is still unclear who Atlanta’s NLDS opponent will be.
To capture home field, the Braves need to defeat the Phillies on Sunday and need both the Dodgers and the Rockies to lose. Los Angeles will face the Giants Sunday while the Nationals are in Colorado. Such a scenario would force a one-game tiebreaker between the Dodgers and Rockies to be played on Monday at Dodgers Stadium which would determine Atlanta’s opponent in the NLDS.
If Atlanta loses to the Phillies on Sunday or either the Dodgers or Rockies win, then the Braves will open on the road in the NLDS.
The NL Central is also still up for grabs entering play on Sunday. The Cubs lost to the Cardinals 2-1 on Saturday while Milwaukee rallied to defeat Detroit to tie for the division lead. If both teams are still tied after Sunday’s games then there will be a one-game tiebreaker held on Monday at Wrigley Field to determine the division champion.
