Dallas Keuchel to start Game 1 of NLDS for Braves

The Atlanta Braves announced on Tuesday that Dallas Keuchel will get the start in Game 1 of the Division Series. Keuchel posted a 2.74 ERA at SunTrust Park this season and will match up against St. Louis right-hander Miles Mikolas.

Nationals ride wild eighth to beat Brewers, move on to face Dodgers

The Washington Nationals advanced to the NLDS Tuesday night with a thrilling 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Wild Card game. The Brewers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead thanks to homers by Yasmani Grandal and Eric Thames off of Max Scherzer. Washington rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the eighth against Josh Hader as Juan Soto’s single eluded outfielder Trent Grisham in right allowing three runs to score. The Nationals will face the Dodgers in the NLDS which gets underway Thursday.

A’s to start Sean Manaea against Rays in wild-card game

Oakland left-hander Sean Manaea will get the call for the Athletics in Wednesday’s American League Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Manaea has been lights out since returning from the injured list posting a 1.21 ERA in 29 1/3 innings over five starts.

Reds Hire Driveline Baseball’s Kyle Boddy, Promote Caleb Cotham

Cincinnati also announced Tuesday that they have hired Driveline Baseball’s Kyle Boddy to serve as the organization’s director of pitching initiatives/pitching coordinator. His primary focus will be working with the organization’s minor league pitchers. Boddy will also remain with Driveline. Boddy also reportedly had an offer from the Cubs but chose to sign on with the Reds.

One day after letting manager Brad Ausmus go, the Los Angeles Angels continue to purge their coaching staff. Pitching coach Doug White and bench coach Josh Paul are the latest to be informed that they won’t return for the 2020 season.
