Mike Foltynewicz turned in a spectacular performance while Adam Duvall delivered a big pinch-hit two-run home run to give the Atlanta Braves some breathing room in a 3-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. The series is now tied 1-1 and will now shift to St. Louis for Game 3 on Sunday where Mike Soroka will make his postseason debut for Atlanta. As you would expect, there was a much different vibe around the postgame interviews this time around.
Duvall talked about hearing the boos from the crowd as he stepped to the plate to pinch hit for Foltynewicz and said that he just wanted to put together a good at-bat. He turned those boos into cheers quickly.
"I heard 50,000 people let me know that they wanted Folty to stay in the game. I wanted to put together a good at-bat."

Much different tone to Brian Snitker’s presser at the podium tonight. Snitker talked about Foltynewicz’s performance, the decision to pinch hit for him in the seventh and not pulling Brian McCann for a pinch hitter.
"It's pretty cool to see for a guy that went through what he's went through this year ... and to see him step up like that is something really special."

Foltynewicz became just the third Braves pitcher ever to throw seven shutout innings without a walk joining Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux. He is joined at the podium by Duvall which is fitting given that both players spent a portion of the season in Triple-A before getting another chance to make an impact at the major league level.
"These games are pretty big, but it's the same game we've been playing all year. ... Really made sure to slow things down and stay in my mechanics."
