After today’s game, the Braves are heading back to Atlanta. Whether they’re doing this to prepare for Game 5 of the NLDS against the Cardinals, or to take a quick breather before the NLCS starts on Friday - that, we’re not so clear on.
A win will be cause for much celebration, as the Braves can lock down their first playoff victory in nearly two decades. As it stands currently, they are holding their first playoff series lead since the 2002 NLDS - a series they would go on to lose to the Giants.
The Braves will put their trust in Dallas Keuchel; the Cardinals will counter with rookie Dakota Hudson, whose inaugural campaign was a success on the surface, but showed some struggles with his peripherals. Today, let’s hope none of his pitches work, and that he exits in the third inning behind 11-0. That would be swell!
It’s very possible we will not have many opportunities to hang out and talk about Braves baseball as it’s happening for much longer this season, so we hope you will be interested in sticking around in our comments section this afternoon and chatting us up. After all, we make these threads for you.
In the instance that you just really enjoy reading about baseball - I mean, why else would you be here? - and / or you want to wow your buddies with some situational knowledge, read these five times apiece and see what you can memorize:
Let’s get loud.
