The Atlanta Braves had their chances but ultimately came up short in a 5-4, 10-inning loss to the St. Louis Cardinal in Game 4. Atlanta finished the game 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.
That sets the stage for a winner take all Game 5 back at SunTrust Park on Wednesday with Mike Foltynewicz to square off in a rematch against Jack Flaherty.
Brian Snitker discussed the missed opportunities late and disclosed that Max Fried was unavailable. He confirmed that Foltynewicz will indeed get the start in Game 5.

Julio Teheran was pressed into service in the 10th. He allowed a double to Kolton Wong to lead off the inning and the game-winning sacrifice fly by Yadier Molina. He discussed the failed double play attempt that Marcell Ozuna just beat at first and the differences in coming in for a relief appearance.
Freddie Freeman is just 2-for-16 through the first four games of the series but he insists that his sore elbow hasn’t been a factor.
Nick Markakis is 3-for-17 in the series. He knows that he and the rest of the team’s veterans need to pick it up.

Dansby Swanson added two more hits in Game 4. He, Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuña Jr. have accounted for 19 hits in the series.
Dallas Keuchel got the start for Atlanta on short rest and allowed four hits, including three solo homers, in just 3 1/3 innings.
