Following the Atlanta Braves’ loss in Game 5 of the NLDS, catcher Brian McCann informed reporters that he plans to retire. He added that he decided that it was time last month.

McCann signed a one-year deal with the Braves this past offseason. His career spanned 15-years in the majors with 10 coming in an Atlanta Braves uniform. He is a lifetime .262/.337/.452 hitter with 282 career home runs.
