Free Agency Rumors
Howie Kendrick is reportedly drawing widespread interest on the free agent market. Both the Rays and the Marlins have reportedly touched base with the veteran infielder in the past week. The Cincinnati Reds are another team that is interested in adding Kendrick according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

The San Francisco Giants have hired former Cubs executive Scott Harris to serve as the team’s general manager. Harris spent the last seven years in Chicago serving as assistant GM the last two seasons.
With a GM in place, the Giants will officially turn their attention to hiring a new manager to replace Bruce Bochy. Astros bench coach Joe Espada is widely regarded as the favorite to land the position but this still reportedly others that are still in the mix.
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ search for a new GM is reportedly down to three finalists according to the New York Post’s Joel Sherman. Two of the finalists are thought to be Ben Cherington, who is currently serving as Toronto’s VP of baseball operations and Brewers assistant GM Matt Arnold.
