The Atlanta Braves will try to salvage a series split when they wrap up a four-game series against the New York Mets in a nationally televised matchup on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball.

Julio Teheran will be on the mound for the Braves and will be looking to rebound after a rough outing last time out. Teheran held the Rockies scoreless through four innings at Coors Field in his last start, but allowed six runs in the fifth. The velocity on his fastball has declined in each of his first three starts but his slider has been good enough to keep him reasonably effective.

Like Teheran, Mets Sunday starter Jacob deGrom will be coming off of a rare ugly outing. DeGrom opened the season in fine fashion with 13 shutout innings against the Nationals and the Marlins. However, he lasted just four innings in his last start against the Twins allowing eight hits and six runs snapping a record-tying run of 26 straight quality starts. DeGrom has made three starts at SunTrust Park and has allowed just two runs and struck out 25 over 21 innings.

Atlanta’s offense will face a stiff challenge in deGrom but Josh Donaldson will be looking to continue a hot streak. Donaldson has five hits in the series including his first home run in a Braves uniform on Saturday. He is currently hit in six straight and is 8-for-23 at the plate with five doubles and that homer during that span.
