Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Braves fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.
SB Nation’s FanPulse voting results for Week 4 are in and show that Atlanta Braves fans remain confident in the performance of manager Brian Snitker. Snitker’s rating comes in at 79 percent which is up slightly from 77 percent last week. He began the season with a 92 percent approval rating but that saw that plummet to 69 percent following the opening weekend sweep in Philadelphia. For now, things appear to be stabilizing somewhat.
Interestingly, fan confidence in the direction of the team rose to a season-best 92 percent this week. It is important to point out that voting was completed before the bullpen blew back-to-back games against Arizona and before we learned that closer Arodys Vizcaino would be lost for the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Given the outcry on Twitter and other forms of social media this week in regards to the status of the bullpen, it will be interesting to see where fan confidence lands next week.
This week’s FanPulse national question was also relevant to the Braves in particular as it asks who gets the better deal when teams sign young players too extensions. 68.7 percent of the voters said that the team gets the better end of the deal while 31.3 percent think the player comes out better. The Braves recently locked up both Ronald Acuña Jr. and Ozzie Albies to what many have classified as team-friendly deals.
